A master craftsman and player, Nazi Ghaban has been making ouds for over 40 years. We visited his workshop hear him play and learn more.

Meet Nazih Ghaban, a philosophy professor and oud player who has also been making the classical Arabic string instruments for over 40 years.

'All Arabs know that the oud is the father of the guitar.' he says. The word ‘al-oud’ became ‘lute’, which later inspired the evolvement of the guitar.

We visited his workshop in Lebanon to learn more about his craft and listen to him play.
